House clearance

A room part-way through a clearance, dust sheets down and the contents stacked — This plate carries 92% of its own colour, because at this point in the job that is the share of it still standing in the room.

Probate, end of tenancy, a downsize, or a loft that has been filling since 1998. Two crew, one truck, and a written waste transfer note before we leave the kerb.

Furniture comes apart on the drive rather than on the truck. A wardrobe taken to panels rides at a fifth of the volume it stands at, and volume is the whole of the bill.
